The worldwide smash hit Fruit Ninja is now on Android for FREE!
Fruit Ninja is a juicy action game with squishy, splatty and satisfying fruit carnage! Become the ultimate bringer of sweet, tasty destruction with every slash.
Swipe up across the screen to deliciously slash fruit like a true ninja warrior. With three games modes in single player and worldwide leaderboards using Openfeint, the addictive gameplay will keep you coming back for even higher scores.
Fruit Ninja features three packed gameplay modes - Classic, Zen and the new Arcade, featuring powerups including Freeze, Frenzy and Double Score! The bonus Dojo section includes unlockable blades and backgrounds, and you can also unlock achievements and post scores to the online leaderboards with Openfeint.
Fruit Ninja is the original and the best slasher on Android!
There's not much to Kinect title Fruit Ninja: Fruit gets tossed into the air. You slash it in half by waving your arms like a samurai sword. The end. But that very simplicity is what makes the game such an immediate success. Watch someone play for a few minutes and you'll have a firm grasp of the basics, and while practice certainly improves your reaction time, a total newcomer to not just Fruit Ninja but to gaming in general can step up and have fun immediately. It's ho hum as a solo venture, but get a group of people in front of Fruit Ninja and hilarity is pretty much guaranteed. So are bruises.
All of Fruit Ninja's game modes boil down to the same basic flap arms/slash fruit mechanics, but you'll need to apply at least a bit of technique if you hope to best your friends on the leaderboards. You'll net a point for each fruit you hit, but swiping through several fruits at once will earn you combo points, and if you can manage to cut several of the same kind in one move, you'll get bonus points for that, too. In classic mode, easily the least exciting of the game, missing three times or accidentally swatting a bomb will bring your slicing and dicing to an end. For real zing, fire up Arcade Mode, which encourages you to score as high as possible in 60 seconds. This is where Fruit Ninja begins to reveal its goofy appeal, as kiwis, apples, oranges and limes go hurling across your screen like a wayward car crashed into a fruit stand. Hitting a bonus bananas - a phrase I never thought I'd use in my professional life - will slow the action, give you double points, or start a Frenzy, which will toss even more fruit around. Shouting "FRENZY!" whenever you tag that particular banana is optional, but certainly recommended.
Most of Fruit Ninja's modes are single player, but for pure fruity chaos you need only fire up Party Mode, which lets two players whack fruit either cooperatively or competitively. Co-op is a great way for parents and kids to game together, but Versus is where you'll discover how cutthroat your friends really are. One player is red, the other blue; cutting fruit outlined in your color nets you points, and every so often, an up-for-grabs white fruit will sail across the screen, fair game for either competitor. Hacking up your opponent's fruit will cost you valuable points, but that doesn't mean you can't, for example, "accidentally" shove your buddy out of frame or just sort of smack him with a stray arm slash. Oopsie! Oh, yeah. Fruit Ninja Versus is where citrus demolition gets real.
Improper Kinect calibration can make your blade swishing random and ineffective, but even in the best set-ups, navigating Fruit Ninja's menus is a nightmare. Completing certain combos unlocks new blades, backgrounds, and shadows; to select them, you must vist your Dojo and select them from a long list. Should be simple enough, but the upward and downward slashes necessary for navigation aren't exactly precise or reliable. The list might nudge up one entry or jump down 10, so reaching the item you're trying to select is as much a matter of determination as it is luck. The game also seems to want to interpret every hand gesture as a slash, which leads to constant misselection of menu options. Scratch your nose and you'll suddenly find yourself firing up a new game mode instead of quitting like you intended. Hmm ... perhaps that's all part of Fruit Ninja's cunning plan to keep you playing. Which you likely would, so long as your arms didn't fall off. Prepare to be sore after going a few rounds with your pals.
It's also worth noting that Fruit Ninja is just a buck on the iPhone, but ten times that much on your Xbox. The handheld version can't match the fun of the Biggie-sized version - handing a phone back and forth and flicking your finger simply can't compare with watching your friends flail their arms around - but parting with a buck for some silly, shallow gameplay is a lot easier than coughing up a ten.
Bottom Line: Like all good party games, Fruit Ninja is a bit bland by yourself, but add some friends into the mix and it becomes a goofy good time. You won't spend a lot of time with it when you play, but it'll be a surefire hit at your get-togethers.
Recommendation: If you have a Kinect, friends, and arms, you should definitely add this to your party roster. If you're lacking any of the above, you can safely give it a pass.

Answer: To delete web pages on the carousel, go to web-settings-clear history and clear cachet. To delete a video from the carousel, go to settings- more-applications-Amazon video-clear data. To clear apps from the carousel, go to settings- more- applications- filter by all apps-app manager-clear data.
if you really want something removed from your carousel you have to delete (or trash) it from both your Accounts' Media Library (www.amazon.com/Medialibrary) and your Kindle library at (amazon.com/manageyourkindle). Then you must re-sync your Kindle Fire device using the gear Settings icon. Of course you won't be able to access the book after that, but this is the only way I got a title with a lurid cover off my carousel without having to download a bunch of new books to "push" it from the display.
Some peoples asked about the syncing.
In case you need to know, that's in the settings menu (gear icon).
If you did that already, then make sure the titles are actually trashed in the Media Library. If I am remembering these correction, I had to wait for a pop up box that asks for acknowledgement and it will go back to the first page of the book list after each trash. You have to check deletion boxes on the Manage Kindle list. Then re-sync the device.
This removed them from my device and carousel. Hope that helps! Note, Amazon says they are fixing this in the next software version - so they informed me when I complained. No date on when that is though.
To remove items from carousel just tap what you dont want and hold. then a little window pops up tap "delete" hope this helps.
EASY! Just touch the book you want to remove from the carousel and hold. A menu pops up asking if you want to: Add to favorites or Remove from Carousel or Remove from Device.
Easy: Goto the settings and tap + more and scroll to device open and hit update if you are already runing the 6.2.1 then somthing is wrong
So now you know how to install Android Market and gain access to many more apps than you normally have with Kindle Fire. But what if you want to launch the Android Market directly from the Kindle Fire bookshelf? Inside I’ll show you how to Launch Android Market directly from Kindle Fire’s UI…
Special thanks goes to munday from the XDA forums for creating this APK to launch the Market from Kindle Fire’s UI.
How to Launch Android Market from Kindle Fire
Note: You must already have Android Market installed on your device. This is basically just a shortcut to the already installed Market. If you don’t have Market installed, you will receive an error. Step 1: Open a browser and download and install the MarketOpener.APK Step 2: You should now see the MarketOpener in your carousel. Tap and hold on it and select save to favorites to save it in your bookshelf. Now you can launch Android Market directly from your Kindle Fire interface.
There’s been a lot of talk about how difficult Kindle Fire screenshots are to capture, but in reality, it really isn’t all that hard.
True, it’s a lot less simple than pressing the Home + Power button on an iOS device, but it’s not exactly rocket science either. Inside, I’ll show you how…
How to Capture Kindle Fire Screenshots
Note: You must have Android SDK installed, and have the Kindle Fire USB driver installed. See our rooting tutorial for more info. You don’t have to actually root, just install the drivers and SDK.
Step 1: Navigate to your Android SDK Directory via the CMD Prompt. (Start > Type ‘CMD’ press enter) My Android SDK directory is C:\Android, but yours may be different depending on where you installed the SDK.
Step 2: Once in the SDK directory, navigate to the tools directory (CD tools).
Step 3: Type: ddms to run the Dalvick Debug Monitor
Step 4: Make sure your Kindle Fire is plugged into your PC’s USB connection, and select your device.
Step 5: Go to the ‘Device’ menu and select ‘Screen capture…’ You can then rotate, refresh, and save screenshots from your Kindle Fire as PNG files.

What other ways to screen capture with kindle fire you know?
The Kindle Fire is an unusual device with one of the most extensively modified Android skins available. Amazon might have hit some aspects of the device just right, like the integration with the Amazon cloud, but for every hit there is a miss like the sluggish Silk browser and or limited home screen. Amazon might have altered the look and feel of Android, but there is a lot of the core OS under the hood.
With very little setup, users can “sideload” apps from outside the Amazon Appstore to improve the device. Enough of the Kindle Fire’s software has been changed that many apps won’t work correctly, but with a little trial and error we’ve found some useful additions.
How to install apps
To install apps from outside Amazon’s ecosystem, one need only to take a quick trip into the settings. Under Device, there is a toggle to allow the installation of apps from “Unknown Sources.” That needs to be set to “On.” Once the device is ready to go, you need to find the apps.
Kindle Unknown SourcesSome Android apps can be obtained from their developer’s site, or from various alternative repositories online. This can be a risky proposition as malware is more common in this kind of gray market space. Anyone with an Android phone can download an app from the Android Market and extract the installation package, known as the APK, using apps like Astro File Explorer. Those without another Android device might consider asking around on forums for users to extract the files for them.
The APK files can be emailed to the device, and downloaded from the native email client, then installed from any file manager. There are several in the Amazon Appstore, but I’ve been using ES File Manager. This method is a little ungainly, but there’s an easy way to fix it that will pave the way for faster app installation and more functionality… and it’s actually our first app.
Dropbox
Dropbox is a well-known cloud storage and sync tool that offers 2GB of free space. This is a good place to start because this handy bit of storage will make it very easy to push more apps to the Kindle Fire. Dropbox itself is also a highly useful service that is good to have around in general. Like everything else on this list, it’s not available on the Kindle Fire version of the Appstore.
The free Dropbox app from the Android Market works very well on the Fire. It is essentially a stretched phone interface, but it doesn’t have any controls at the bottom to be obscured by the Fire’s unique on-screen buttons. Both downloading and uploading to Dropbox worked as expected. Any APK files added to Dropbox on another system can be cached and installed with a single tap on the Fire.
Dolphin Browser HD
The stock browser on the Kindle Fire has some issues with speed and page rendering. Luckily, you can sideload an alternative that performs better. Dolphin Browser HD isn’t in the Amazon Appstore, but it’s free and available elsewhere. This browser feels faster loading pages to us, and scales well to the Kindle Fire’s screen.
Dolphin is overall just a little better and smoother to use. The gesture system for navigating also makes more sense here than it does on smaller phones.
Go Launcher
The Kindle Fire’s home screen is not the entirety of the system, despite Amazon working hard to make everything feel like an extension of that. In reality, it’s just a launcher app like on any other Android device. To Amazon’s credit, the parts of the operating system that allow users to change out default apps is still intact. That means custom home screens can be used to get a more tablet-like experience quite easily.
After running through a number of incompatible home screen replacements, we found Go Launcher to be fast and completely functional on the Fire. This launcher creates a traditional Android home screen with icons, multiple scrollable panels, and even widgets. Go Launcher is smart enough to place its dock above the on-screen buttons, which still work as expected in this alternate environment.
Kindle DolphinIt also detects Amazon modules like Kindle, Appstore, and Audible as apps that you can access through the app drawer. Any app installed from any source that is designed to have widgets on an Android device will have its widgets accessible in Go Launcher on the Fire.
The Kindle Fire will ask each time the home button is pressed if the user wants to go to the Kindle launcher, or Go Launcher. The check box on the pop-up remembers your choice, but that can be changed in the settings anytime the stock UI is desired.
Screen Filter
The Kindle Fire is still a reading device, but reading on an LCD is always going to be a less than ideal experience. A backlit screen tends to be harder on the eyes as it pumps out all those photons. A major issue with the Fire is that even at the minimum brightness setting, it is retina-burning bright in a dark room.
A simple free app called Screen Filter can be had on the official Android Market, and sideloading it will fix the brightness issue once and for all. Just open Screen Filter and everything gets nice and dark. To get to the user interface of the app, check the notification area for the link. Screen Filter has a slider for users to choose how dark to make the screen. Once the right level has been found, tapping the icon to toggle it on and off is easy enough.
Screen Filter can push the screen all the way down to zero backlight, which is obviously not usable, but that just shows how powerful the tool is. This is truly indispensable for night-time reading.
MoboPlayer
Kindle Screen FilterThe built-in Movies feature on the Fire is limited to hardware decoding of a very limited range of video codecs. This is actually common for most Android devices, and has created a market for video players capable of software decoding. The Amazon Appstore has a few video players apps, but surprisingly, they don’t work very well on the Fire. A little trial and error, and we found a video player that can play almost anything.
MoboPlayer is a favorite app from the Android Market. The interface is slick and easy to use. This app also recognizes the on-screen Fire buttons and moves its controls just above that. MoboPlayer uses gestures to control several functions, and users may have to manually raise the volume by swiping up on the right side of the screen. There’s some software confusion as the Fire has no physical volume toggle.
The Kindle Fire isn’t perfect, but there is still enough Android in it to allow this kind of customization. Adding Go Launcher makes it instantly feel somewhat like a real tablet. A couple of extras like Screen Filter and MoboPlayer can smooth over some of the rough spots too. All this costs absolutely nothing if you can get access to the APK files.
I hope, what I have described above can you understand and are also useful for you.
If you're the proud owner of a new Amazon Kindle Fire, your purchase decision might have been influenced by the tablet's superior app selection over its rival, the Nook Tablet. As any tablet owner knows, perusing an app store for good finds is half the fun. But it's also okay to cheat a bit by looking through lists of the best apps around.
Here are 14 of the best Kindle Fire apps to get you started.
1. Pulse News
Pulse is the go-to app for finding and reading news stories on smartphones and tablets. Pick your sources from Pulse's comprehensive list, and they'll appear laid out in rows of thumbnails and headlines. The app also cleans up story pages by removing ads and other distractions. It's a free download, and if you create a Pulse.me account, you can sync your sources across multiple devices.
2. AK Notepad
Fancy note-taking apps such as Evernote are great for syncing your data with other devices and adding multimedia, but sometimes you just need a simple way to put words on the screen. AK Notepad is a free app for jotting down notes. It also allows you to set reminders and share your documents through email and other sources.
3. Read It Later Pro
Go to the Read It Later website. Click on the link for the browser you're using now, and follow the instructions to install a special bookmark. Then, the next time you find a long Internet article that you don't have time to get into (but that you'd like to read at some other time), click that bookmark. The article will be waiting for you in the Read It Later app on your Kindle Fire. Perfect. The Pro version costs $3.
4. Atari's Greatest Hits
Scratch your retro-gaming itch with Atari's Greatest Hits, a compilation of classic arcade games and Atari 2600 titles. Missile Command is included for free, and additional games are available in bundles for $1 each; or, you can buy all 99 games for $10.
5. Cut the Rope
Angry Birds gets all the attention, but I like Cut the Rope for its more cerebral approach to physics-based puzzle gaming. The goal is to feed candy to a cute froglike creature named Om Nom by making strategic slices into a network of ropes and pulleys. Easy at first, Cut the Rope constantly presents new surprises to shake up the formula. And it costs only $1.
6. Plants vs. Zombies
PopCap's take on "tower defense" gaming has a wacky premise: You control an army of killer plants trying to stop a horde of menacing (but strangely endearing) zombies. Behind the cartoon graphics lies a complex game of strategy that'll suck you in. Plants vs. Zombies costs $3.
7. Doodle Jump
Phones and tablets haven't been around long, but Doodle Jump is already a classic mobile game. The Kindle Fire's 7-inch screen is perfect for maintaining precise control as you guide the Doodle's ascent. The price is $1, same as always.
8. Enjoy Sudoku Daily
What better way to get your sudoku fix than on a tablet, without the mess of pencils or pens? Enjoy Sudoku Daily provides fresh puzzles every day at 16 difficulty levels. It also has tutorials, hints, and a "pencil" simulator for when you're not quite ready to commit to a number. The Daily version is free, and the ad-free version costs $3.
9. Fandango
The Kindle Fire has plenty of options for watching movies, but sometimes you just have to get out of the house. Before you go, check the Fandango app for local movie listings, times, and trailers. You can also buy movie tickets directly from the app. It's free.
10. Alarm Clock Xtreme
For $2 (on sale right now for $1), Alarm Clock Xtreme will wake you up right. You can set alarms with music, set gradual volume fade-ins for a less jarring effect, adjust the size of the snooze buttons, require simple math problems to stop the alarm, and more.
11. Wi-Fi File Explorer Pro
For $1, Wi-Fi File Explorer Pro can transfer files wirelessly to and from a computer, saving you the hassle of plugging in via USB. Just start a sharing session on the tablet app, and you'll get a Web address to enter on your computer's browser.
12. Wifi Analyzer
For those times when the Kindle Fire's native Wi-Fi utility doesn't cut it, Wifi Analyzer provides extra information to help you get the best signal. This free app can analyze which wireless channel has the least interference, and it can show signal strengths over time for all nearby access points.
13. Imo
Imo is an all-in-one chat app that supports AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, and Windows Live Messenger, among other services. It supports group chat and lets you share multimedia--and it doesn't cost a penny.
14. Rhapsody or Rdio
With only 6GB of usable storage on the Kindle Fire, you might consider turning to a subscription music service such as Rhapsody or Rdio, both of which stream millions of songs to your mobile devices for $10 per month. These services are different from Pandora because you can choose the song or album you want to hear.
